My 1967 XR Fairmont
I guess I should put some thing up here about the car.
I bought it in 2006, drove it for 10 months pulled it of the road last November (2006) and over a 2 month period did all the work, with some help from some very good mates.
The colour is House of Colour Purple pearl with pink over lay, trim is pretty much stock, with just a few gauges and a Stewart Warner shift light in the dash. It is a blast to drive and not to bad on the highway.
I just wanted a quick street car.
I hope you all like it.

Re: My 1967 XR Fairmont
Actually it's not to bad on the street. My daughter use to drive it on her L plates. Although mind you it did take a tank of fuel to go from Nunawading to Hallam and back on Friday night. But what the hell anything you can light the tyres on at 80 kph must be fun.
Re: My 1967 XR Fairmont
Your XR has the best of both worlds John - brawn and beauty. Nicest car I've seen in a long time.
Re: My 1967 XR Fairmont
Here's another pic from a photo shoot last month. Unfortunately you can see by the right hand front guard how the front is starting to twist. The gap is 3mm at the bottom and 9-10mm at the top. Don't you just hate torque

Re: My 1967 XR Fairmont
You could always drop a stocker back in to solve the twint'n ! either way it will still look T U F F !
Re: My 1967 XR Fairmont
It will go back to factory stock in the next 5 or 6 years. But until then i'll put up with it.

Woohoo! after my ride today I wouldn't change a thing twist'n or no twist'n! It's an awesome machine.
Thanks for the ride.Re: My 1967 XR Fairmont
An absolute pleasure Paul. I will admit I thought you went a bit quite on me and thought i went a bit over bored, I don't get to drive it that much theses days, so any excuse to give it a bit of stick is always more than welcome, and thank you for the surprise you bought over with you. I have already made plans for it.
