GAS #4 '69 Camaro

Why not?

This is another one I've had kicking around for a while. Revell '69 Z28 Camaro that I stuffed the paint on, so it has been stripped and is now ready for a new life. Wheels are from the Copperhead snap tite kit and the idea is for a very smooth resto rod. The finished model will be Candy orange with white stripes running a twin turbo small block.

Here is the finished car.

I got the front end down a fair bit compared to the stock height illustrated by the 48 Woody.

I thought Revell may have added a lowered front end as they have done with the 37 Coupe

I built in a style that I like - sort of custom meets resto rod if you know what I mean

Gday guys, I am new and this is my first post, I have been a member of the Scale Auto forum but thought I would like to get involved in a forum here in Aust. Anyway my work in progress is the AMT 70 Super Bee pro streeter. Basically bodywise I have hinged and opened up the boot and scratchbuilt the reinforcement out of some styrene. This will be a quick simple build, i hope. Ride height will adjusted to correct 60s Ford stance, bum down nose up .

Okay i thought i would give this a go with one of wrecks that never got finished, the first pics will give you an idea why . Started reassembling / repairing it yesterday afternoon, while i had my fire going in the shed .

Lomas Coupe

Here�s another project I�ve got on the go while it�s too cold to paint. This is based on the Lomas coupe out of So Cal and uses the Revell snap tite �34 Ford Street Rod as a base. So far I have scratch built a firewall, channelled the body, split the front bones, added a Cadillac V8 with triples and an A-model quick change rear end. It�ll get a coat of very dark green enamel and run lime coloured steelies with white walls, baby moons and trim rings come summer.

Hey guys just wondering if anyone knows if Scale Auto or anyone else ever did a listing or feature on the van kits that have been available over the years? I know in the height of the van craze they did Charlies Angels, Hardy Boys vans etc but I'd love to get a listing so I can collect all of them. Sad isn't it, another van tragic!

Here's my take on GAS #4 with some "Modern Muscle" !

This is the least detailed version of the Camaro but I think it's a bit more accurate than AMT's Version, and less parts mean less work!!

Body was Prepped,Primed and Colour coated @ Andy's Paint and Panel (That New booth ROCKS!!!).....

Colour is From a Toyota Aurion (Carps you know what its called??) with a bit of Interference Gold pearl as a base, Just need to work out if I'm adding stripes or not then it's ready for ...

Here's the latest bitsa on my bench and came about from the left over cab after building "Plan C", I decided to give a roof chop a go (Only other I've done was a '26 Delivery!).

I really don't know how this will all turn out in the end but it's gunna be a fun build!

Cab and rear fenders are from the '50 F1, front clip is '37 Ford and Chassis is ummm (Muffled voice!) '95 Chevy(ISUZU?) Blazer 4WD, power will likely be Ford 6 cyl..................................What ya ...

I removed the side trim, I roll panned the rear, I recessed the number plate, I rounded the front nose cone. Built custom exhaust using a drink can and used 57 Chev extractors. Carpeted the interior. Stole the injectors from the 56 Ford.

I have to sand and gloss it one day.

Not that great but at least I attempted it.

Monte Carlo Stock car

This Monte Carlo Stock car is I think a 1971 model, I started building it about 2 years ago. it has a 427ci big block with sprint car fuel injection, also has a extra radiator. still got a few things to do on it such as a rock shield for the driver and some speedway mud.

Here is my attempt at the Transformers Bumblebee Camaro,

This one started out as the Revell 1979 Camaro. Bumblebee is I think a 1977 model. I didn't realise how many changes had to be done until I started. there are still a few bits I missed. Oh well!!

Still workin on the engine for it. also had to make some bumpers. the bonnet scoop is off the AMT 69 Camaro. the stripes were masked and spayed.

wanted to build a 3 window 34 but havent seen one for a long time, i was given a box of parts that contaned the body of a 3 window with a chopped roof, i think it was a Revell kit of ZZtops 34, i purchased the AMT 5 window to provide parts, not many matched, the body of the Revell kit was wider so the bonnet had to be widened under the windscreen but retain its size at the radiator, the mudguards and running boards needed lotsa work to make them match up, but i am very pleased with the finished ...

Restored Big Rod

After seeing some of the 1/8th scale posts lately I decided to get in and finish the restoration of a Monogram Big Rod model given to me some time ago.

The Big Duece is on the bench for a bit of TLC including some new tyres from the current issue kit as the old hollow tyres are shot from a few decades of hulking styrene sitting on them!, these kits are mighty heavy when complete so I hope these tyres give Dave a few more decades. The Dick Landy Dodge is nearly finished except for some decals. The decals are old and brittle, therefore thats why I sprayed the stripes on the car (see On The Bench). Its now time to place the sponsor decals and they too are brittle and falling apart when they are put in the water. DV8V8 gave me a sheet of the decals but his too are brittle and falling apart. i have seen a lot of great engines built here and then they get tucked into a body shell and all is hidden behind body panels and bonnets blahdeblah!!!!

Gday guys just a few photos of my 69 Chevelle. The kit itself was pretty average, I removed the molded in tailshaft and made a new tunnel out of styrene and used a spare tailshaft. I lowered the suspension and fitted Parts Box resin rotors and calipers. The interior uses 67 Chevelle seats with scratch built seat belts with detailmaster buckles. The monster tacho and shifter are also from the Parts Box. Motor wise I have used the kit big block but have added a resin Parts Box blower and injector ...

Here's another one that I've been wanting to make a start on - this new GAS has given me the perfect excuse!

It will need a good roof chop, an extension of the rear fenders, a close shave and a good lowering job. Finished car will be dark red/black with a metallic red roof and white scallops.
