Moffat Ford Dealers Promo Model

A bit unusual this one - it's a 1:16 scale card model of Allan Moffat's 1977 ATCC winning Falcon. Ford printed them to celebrate the win and they were available from Ford dealerships, but my father worked at Ford then and he got me a couple of sheets. I built one up and this is it. It's battered and bruised now but extremely tough and has survived all these years. I don't know who designed the cardboard cutout, but they did a terrific job on it. It even has the characteristic rear window curve of the XB coupe. Cardboard modelling isn't easy but it's certainly rewarding.

Did I promise it to you? I haven't cleared out my garage yet and there's no hurry for me to do so anyway. However I'll leave it to you in my will. It's only card Howie.

Terry one of those sold at Shannon's last month for $3,000. I wouldn't be giving it to any one.

Thanks John. So that explains Howie's interest in it (LOL) Seriously I'll never understand the world of collectors? $3000 for this - I didn't realise they were so rare. Anyway this one stays with me for now.
